4th of July Fireworks

The 23rd annual “A” Mountain Fireworks Celebration, sponsored by Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment, will start at approximately 9:15 p.m., on Thursday, July 4.

Residents can enjoy the fireworks from the Tucson Convention Center’s (TCC) Parking Lot B (off Cushing Street between Granada and Church avenues) or Parking Lot C (off Granada between Broadway Boulevard and Cushing Street). Free parking will be available all day Thursday at the City/State garage and at meters throughout the downtown area.

City Holiday Closures and Service Changes

All City of Tucson offices, except for emergency services, will be closed tomorrow, July 4, for Independence Day.

City residential and commercial trash and recycling customers with a collection day of Thursday or Friday will have their service delayed by one day this week. The Los Reales Landfill will be open on Thursday. The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility at 2440 W. Sweetwater Drive will be closed July 4 and 5. The 1st Saturday HHW collection at the Eastside Service Center has been canceled due to the holiday.

Councilmember Richard Fimbres and his staff want to wish everyone and their families a happy and safe Fourth of July. Also a reminder to keep your pets safe from potential Fourth of July activities. 

 

It is important during these times, to be mindful of the heat, careful using fireworks and please don’t drink and drive. If you choose to drink, please designate a driver, call a cab, use Uber or Lyft.

 

Also, if you are out and its raining, don’t drive through washes or flooded roads. Arizona has its stupid motorist law and it is strictly enforced.

 

“A” Mountain Fireworks Celebration Road Closures

The 23rd Annual “A” Mountain Fireworks Celebration sponsored by Desert Diamond Casino and Entertainment will start at approximately 9:15 p.m., Thursday, July 4.

"It's been inspiring to see how Desert Diamond Casino continues to sponsor Tucson's Fourth of July celebrations year after year," said Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild. "Thanks to their generous and patriotic support, we have a fireworks display for all to enjoy."

Water Rates and Charges Increased July 1

Increases in certain water rates and charges took effect Monday, July 1. Changes include the residential monthly service and volume charges, the reclaimed monthly service and usage charges, and the fire sprinkler monthly service charge.

There are also increases in the monthly usage charges for multifamily, mobile home, commercial, industrial, and construction customers. The Central Arizona Project charge per Ccf increases from $0.69 to $0.70.

Get ready to get in the game this July with Tucson Parks and Recreation and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). This year, it’s all about highlighting the fun, games, and exciting offerings at our nation’s parks and recreation centers. Tucson Parks and Recreation is encouraging everyone to get out there and get in the game in their own way at their parks and recreation centers.
