Learn your rights and responsibilities for the Transaction Privilege (sales) Tax by attending a Tax and License Workshop sponsored by the City of Tucson Finance Department. Questions will be answered, and written materials will be available. Samples of sales tax records, worksheets, and monthly returns will be explained. You should bring a calculator and a pencil.

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is among four sites under consideration for an Air Force Reserve F-35A Lightning II fighter squadron by 2023. The Air Force made the announcement yesterday. The other bases under consideration are in Florida, Texas, and Missouri.
The Sun Link streetcar is an easy commuting option to the 25th annual Arizona International Film Festival tomorrow through May 1. All of the films being shown are at venues along the streetcar route. Park, dine, explore, and ride the streetcar to the festival's 30 features and 58 short films from 25 countries.
Children between the ages of 7 and 12 are invited to write a letter about their favorite role model (from a designated list of dignitaries) and they could have an opportunity to follow that person around on April 30, the day of the Children's Day Festival/Día del Niño at Children's Museum Tucson. The 10 a.m.-2 p.m. event is sponsored by Arizona Bilingual Newspaper, and admission to the museum will be free that day.
A free legal clinic will be held next Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at 801 W. Congress St. The event is meant for people who have defaulted on their mortgage, are facing foreclosure, thinking about bankruptcy, or want counseling on legal issues related to homeownership.
The voter registration deadline for Arizona's Special Election is next Monday, April 18. Those wishing to register to vote may contact the Pima County Recorder's Office at (520) 724-4330. Registered voters in Pima County may also request to be placed on the Permanent Early Voter List (PEVL) and automatically be mailed an Early Voting Ballot.
