In honor of the César E. Chávez Holiday in the City of Tucson, all City offices will be closed Monday, March 28 (except emergency services). Trash and recycling collections will be delayed by one day next week, but the Los Reales Landfill will be open Monday.

The City of Tucson is attempting to annex about 600 homes near South Alvernon Way and East Valencia Road. The City will ask property owners in the 10-year-old, 174-acre Valencia Reserve neighborhood to sign a petition saying they want to live within city limits. Approximately 310 signatures are needed in one year to move forward with the annexation.

A four-phase reconstruction project begins Monday on Old Spanish Trail. The work between Houghton Road and 22nd Street will be performed by Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT).
Crews will work from 6 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays on Old Spanish Trail, keeping one lane open in each direction during the work hours. The improvement project is scheduled to be finished this June. The project is part of the voter-approved, $100 million, five-year Road Recovery street bond program.

If you and your neighbors would like to clean up your neighborhood, Tucson's Environmental Services department (ES) can help. ES will provide roll-off dumpsters and haul away debris at no charge.
To participate in this program, your association or group must be an ES customer, have 10 or more people helping, or be part of an incorporated homeowners association. Please provide two weeks notice in your request. For more information and a link to the request form, please follow the link above.

“A” Mountain will host the Good Friday Cross Procession and Easter Sunday Sunrise Service which will restrict user access to Sentinel Peak Park. In order to accommodate the events, Sentinel Peak Road will close at 3 p.m. tomorrow. It will reopen Saturday at 8 a.m. for pedestrians and bicyclists (an hour later for vehicles).
The roadway will close again on Saturday at 8 p.m. and reopen to all traffic at noon on Sunday.

Vice Mayor Karin Uhlich's Ward 3 Council Office and the Tucson Parks and Recreation department present the 17th annual EGGstravaganza this weekend.
The free, community event is about having family fun. The all-ages party is expected to attract more than 2,000 Tucson youth.
Family activities include music, carnival games, inflatables, prizes, egg hunts, and the Easter Bunny.

Traffic signals at the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Columbus Boulevard are now functioning. Crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation Streets and Traffic Maintenance resumed work on the rewiring of the signals this morning and have completed the repair.
