On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve the pavement conditions on Ironwood Hill Drive from Shannon Road to Silverbell Road.

TUCSON – A lot has been said and even downplayed about the recent action by the Tucson Mayor and Council about the proposed, HomeGoods Distribution Center coming to our City. Here is what has happened.
With my motion, the Mayor and Council approved the City’s Primary Jobs Incentive Program and Payment In Lieu Of Tax Measure for HomeGoods to build their new distribution center at 3649 East Corona Road, which is located in Ward 5.

On Sunday, February 22, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve the pavement conditions on Stone Avenue from Fort Lowell Road to Grant Road.

On Saturday, February 21, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will be installing underground conduit across Stone Avenue at Kelso Street. The work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for one day only. This work is in preparation of a future HAWK crossing project at this location and the future repaving project of Stone Avenue from Grant Road to Fort Lowell Road, as part of the Road Recovery Program.

The Presidents’ Day holiday will be observed on Monday, February 16, 2015. Residential and commercial trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday. All City of Tucson residential and commercial customers will have their trash and recycling service delayed by one day. The Los Reales Landfill will be open.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 9 a.m., crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division will replace a median island streetlight pole at Speedway Boulevard and Woodland Avenue, one block west of Craycroft Road.
The eastbound and westbound median island travel lanes near the work, as well as the turn bay from westbound Speedway to south Woodland Avenue, will be closed. The work should be complete by 1 p.m., the same day.

On Saturday, February 14, 2015, crews from Tucson Electric Power will be replacing power poles at the intersection of Golf Links Road and Swan Road. This work will affect the traffic signals at the intersection. Tucson Police Officers will be directing traffic through the intersection. The work is scheduled to take place from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The traveling public can expect delays when driving or bicycling in this work area. Please obey all traffic control signs and police officers, and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
