DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz.— Approximately 1,100 Airmen have been tasked to deploy from D-M during the first three months of 2015, more than twice the normal amount.Typically, the base would have around 500 Airmen deployed at any given time which makes this deployment a significant increase.This deployment includes Airmen from the 563rd Rescue Group, 55th Electronic Combat Group, 355th Mission Support Group and the 354th Fighter Squadron, including 12 A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft.

At a press conference this afternoon, Governor Ducey ordered that Arizona State flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff today, February 10, until sunset tomorrow, February 11, in honor of Kayla Mueller, a dedicated humanitarian aid worker and citizen of Arizona.
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

The United States Postal Service swore in Megan Brennan as the new Postmaster General on Monday, Feb. 1, 2015. In a letter to employees, Brennan, cited the momentum the organization is experiencing as an opportunity to create change. On Monday, February 9, 2015 and Tuesday, February 10, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, will begin backfilling open trenches on travel lanes at the Sixth Avenue and Toole Avenue intersection. This work will require travel lane restrictions at various legs of the intersection. This work will take place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
