TEAM UP TO CLEAN UP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD - If beautifying your neighborhood is on your 2015 to do list, the City's Environmental Service (ES) department can help. ES will provide roll-off containers (dumpsters) for your use and will haul away the debris at no cost. To participate in this program, you and members of your association or group must be ES residential customers and an incorporated homeowners association, or an organized group of 10 or more residents. Motorists traveling on Interstate 10 in Tucson will encounter travel restrictions next week while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues a project to install new highway sign structures at numerous locations.

Sixth Avenue - Seventh Street to Broadway Improvement Project

On Monday, January 5, 2015, Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve Sixth Avenue between Seventh Street and Broadway. The project will begin with crews installing sewer bypass pumps at the Toole Avenue and Sixth Avenue intersection. This work will result in the intersection being closed nightly to vehicular traffic beginning on Monday, January 5, 2015 through Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Campbell Avenue - Broadway to Third Street Resurfacing Project

On Sunday, January 4, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve the pavement conditions on Campbell Avenue from Broadway north to Third Street.
Crews will be milling (removing asphalt) and repaving Campbell Avenue. The work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, January 9, 2015. To minimize impacts to the adjacent residents, work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in honor of United States Army Specialist Wyatt J.
