Tucson Convention Center Donates Food to Gospel Rescue Mission

During the past few weeks, the Tucson Convention Center (TCC) has been working closely with event planners and event organizers monitoring the latest development regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus. Due to the impacts of the pandemic, which prompted event postponement, the TCC identified perishable food and beverage items it could donate.

Mayor Romero Declares Local Emergency

Tucson Mayor Regina Romero made the following statement yesterday, March 17, declaring a local emergency and announcing a new set of actions the City of Tucson is taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and preserve public health: “This morning, after consulting with business stakeholders, the City Attorney, and City Manager, I have made the determination that it is in the best interest of maintaining public health to suspend dine-in services in restaurants and food courts, and transition to delivery/pick-up only services.

City Cashier Locations Closed for In-Person Payments

City of Tucson cashier locations are closed for in-person payments of utility services statements, business fees/licenses, permits, tax collections, and other items, but you can still pay online.

Utility services payments may be dropped off at one of five City of Tucson dropboxes. All other payments should be mailed to City of Tucson, (ATTN: name of department), P.O. Box 27210, Tucson, AZ 85726-7210.

Tucson Convention Center Statement on Ticket Office

The Tucson Convention Center (TCC) has issued the following statement in relation COVID-19 and ticket sales: "The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority. Following the recommendations of Tucson Mayor Regina Romero and the City of Tucson Executive Leadership Team, the Tucson Convention Center Ticket Office is closed to the public through the end of March."

Household Hazardous Waste Notice

The City of Tucson’s  Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facilities will be closed to the public effective immediately.  The 1st Saturday collection event originally scheduled for April 4, at the Eastside Service Center at 7575 E Speedway Blvd. has been canceled in an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus.

These actions are being taken as a precaution to protect the public and personnel.
