School's Back in Session Tomorrow for Thousands of Tucson Children

Tomorrow, Aug. 1, is the first day of classes for the new school year in the Tucson Unified School District, and that means plenty of children and traffic on the streets each morning and afternoon. The Tucson Police Department (TPD) reminds motorists to be extra careful on their commutes and to obey the 15 mph speed limit in school zones.

Learn more about back-to-school safety and how to avoid getting a traffic ticket in a TPD Facebook video.

More than 840 roadway projects have been completed since its implementation. Some of the projects may also have received local, state, regional, or federal funding. The 20-year RTA plan is funded through June 30, 2026.
