The Tucson Fire Department is seeking an administrative assistant to perform research and analytical work in support of administrative, clerical, and some financial and personnel functions for the department. Duties can also include assisting with budget research and responding to customer inquiries and helping in the resolution of problems.

I attended a ceremony to honor Jeffrey Ross, a Tucson Police officer who was gunned down in 1982. We unveiled a plaque in his honor on Thursday. Here is a bit from the plaque:
Jeffrey H. Ross was a beloved friend, son, brother and husband who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting his community.
Plan Tucson, the City of Tucson’s General and Sustainability Plan, was adopted by voters in 2013, and the City has released a progress report detailing key accomplishments in achieving the goals of the plan over the past five years. The report was presented to the Mayor and Tucson City Council on May 7.
Tucson's Planning and Development Services Department's (PDSD) latest tool, NoticeTucson, was developed to provide transparency and support citizen participation in issues related to land use. The purpose of the notification tool is to offer the public greater insight into new development in the city and PDSD's involvement in the planning and development process.

Grant Road Phase 3 & 4 project segment information will be available from Palo Verde to Venice Place. This will include design plans, land use planning, right-of-way acquisitions, landscape and streetscape designs as well as public art.
Free activities will include kids face painting, canvas art with dog prints, a photo booth for dogs and their humans, music, hot dogs (for humans), and refreshments. There will be a Tucson Police Department K-9 demo at 10 a.m.
The City of Tucson is seeking experienced water system operators to join the Tucson Water department. Operators are responsible for the central control operations of the potable and reclaimed water distribution systems. SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is used to operate, monitor, and control water treatment facilities, distribution systems, and related equipment.
