Individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to historic preservation in Tucson and Pima County will be recognized at the annual Historic Preservation Awards Ceremony hosted by the Tucson‒Pima County Historical Commission (TPCHC). The awards ceremony will take place Saturday, May 25, 9:30-11:30 a.m. (doors open at 9 a.m.) at the Lander Auditorium at Dunbar Pavilion, 325 W. Second St.

The Arizona Symphonic Winds continues its spring concert series on Saturday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at Udall Park, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road. All concerts are free to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. at the László Veres Amphitheater in the park.
Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets, a picnic basket, and enjoy an evening of entertainment for the whole family. The final concert in the series will be June 1.

On Tuesday, May 21, 2019 crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), are scheduled to replace traffic signal heads with upgraded signals to accommodate flashing yellow left turn arrows at the intersection of Golf Links Road and Kolb Road.
Work at the intersection will take place from about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

I attended a ceremony to honor Jeffrey Ross, a Tucson Police officer who was gunned down in 1982. We unveiled a plaque in his honor on Thursday. Here is a bit from the plaque:
