Brush and Bulky Door Hanger Notices No Longer Will Be Delivered Next Year

Beginning in 2019, single-family residential customers inside the city limits will no longer receive door hanger notifications for Brush and Bulky service from the City of Tucson's Environmental & General Services Department.

Visit the Brush and Bulky website to find collection dates and a map of Tucson’s 26 residential service areas. City crews collect from each area twice a year.

Zoo Lights 2018 Continues This Week

Zoo Lights, presented by Tucson Electric Power, continues at Reid Park Zoo. Sip hot chocolate as you stroll through thousands of twinkling lights and lighted animal displays that illuminate the grounds of Reid Park Zoo. There also will be falling snow in the winter wonderland, pictures with Santa, and live music on the weekends. S’mores, sweet treats, and food will be available for purchase.

Sign Up Now for Free Series for Landscape Professionals

Become a landscape professional with certification from the Pima County SmartScape Program. Registration is underway for the SmartScape Series for Landscape Professionals, which begins Tuesday, Jan. 8. The series consists of eight classes over four weeks, followed by an exam, all taught by University of Arizona faculty and local business professionals.

Traffic Alert Broadway Median Island Tree Trimming Travel Lane Restrictions

On Friday, December 14, 2018, from about 3 a.m. to 6 a.m., travel lane restrictions will be in place on Broadway, just west of Wilmot Road to allow crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) to safely trim a large tree in the median island.

During the work, crews will close the eastbound median island and center travel lane and the westbound median island travel lane. At least one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained during this work.

Public Comment Underway for Possible Park Renaming

Tucson Parks and Recreation has received an application to rename the Golf Links Sports Complex to the Todd M. Harris Sports Complex. In accordance with the Tucson Parks and Recreation department's Naming of Parks and Recreational Amenities policy, the application was received and verified for completeness by the department and is subject to a 45-day public comment period.

Help Homeless Pets During the Holiday Season

The third annual Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) Holiday Pet Supply Drive, sponsored by Pima County Public Library, is underway. From now until Dec. 23, you can drop off donations at any library location.
