The intersection of Golf Links Road and Wilmot Road will close tomorrow, June 8, at 8 p.m. for repaving. The intersection is expected to reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 9.
Wilmot Road will be closed to through travel at 22nd Street and at Stella Road, and Golf Links Road will be closed at Craycroft Road and at Kolb Road. Local traffic to access residences and businesses will be allowed past those points. Message boards are in place to alert motorists of the upcoming closures.
Reid Park Zoo’s annual Summer Safari Nights is on Saturdays this year and is now free for members (admission applies for non-members). The program runs 6-8 p.m. every Saturday (except for June 15) until Aug. 17.
Enjoy the Zoo during cooler evening temperatures with added fun, including live music from local bands, games, inflatables, food and drink specials, face painting, glitter tattoos, animal encounters, zookeeper chats, and themed evenings.

On Monday, June 10, 2019, work will begin to install a new underground drainage structure on north Gollob Road from Broadway to Appomattox Street. During the work hours of 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, there will be alternating one-way travel on Gollob Road. A robotic flagging system will be positioned at each end of the work zone to direct travel during the work hours.

Reid Park Zoo is home to four squirrel monkeys, some of the smallest primates. Visitors can see them swinging from branch to branch, hear them vocalizing to one another, and enjoying small pieces of fruit or worms. With the base paving complete on the north side of Valencia Road west of Kolb Road, and the final paving complete on Valencia Road east of Kolb Road, as well as additional work taking place on the new southeast ramp, travel on Valencia Road will shift on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
The Mayor and Tucson City Council last night approved the $1.56 billion, structurally-balanced FY 2019/2020 Budget and Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan. An ordinance establishing tax levies will be on the regular agenda for the meeting of June 18. The full budget book will be online soon.
