The City of Tucson-Pima County Consortium will hold a public meeting to provide an overview of the Consolidated Plan prior to the opening of the public comment period. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 3-5 p.m., at the Pima County Housing Center, 801 W. Congress St.

Saguaro National Park is offering a summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program for teens ages 15-18. YCC is an 8-week youth employment program consisting of three main components: conservation work, environmental education, and outdoor recreation.
The U.S. Air Force has made available for public review and comment a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) F-35A Mission. The Draft EIS identifies Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base as the Preferred Alternative, with Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (AFB) in Tucson, Homestead Air Reserve Base in Florida, and Whiteman AFB in Missouri as Reasonable Alternatives.

Reid Park Zoo is partnering with Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc., UA Global, and the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center to bring more than 400 colorful, interactive, and customized lantern displays to Southern Arizona. The Asian Lantern Festival runs 6-9 p.m. nightly, through March 29.
The family-friendly event features Asian-inspired entertainment, cuisine, and activities, and 80% of the lanterns are new to the Zoo. Animals have access to heated habitats behind the scenes and will likely choose to be off habitat.

The City of Tucson Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) will no longer accept paper building plan documents submitted for review. Walkthrough service will be available, but the application and documents must be submitted in advance.

The Mayor and Tucson City Council yesterday, March 3, voted to extend the six-month pilot program for e-scooters by another six months to get a full year of data and allow time to address parking issues, rider behaviors, and other concerns before deciding whether to make the scooter program permanent.
