The Discovery Program engages visitors through a journey along the path that surrounds the ponds and recharge basins. Guests can use a QR code reader app on any smart device to view the Wetlands in a scientific way as they navigate around the 60-acre site.

There will be limited inspection and plan review services on August 20 and 21 due to an educational event.
At this afternoon’s study session, we will be discussing changing the age at which tobacco products can be purchased from 18 to 21.
With monsoon rain in the forecast for at least the next week or so, the Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) is offering free sandbags. A self-serve sandbag site is open in the east parking lot of Hi Corbett Field, 700 S. Randolph Way, at Reid Park. This location is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Northbound and southbound median island travel lanes on Stone Avenue from Sahuaro Street to Alturas Street are closed to traffic until about 3 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 9. Work crews are conducting median island work at the Stone Avenue and Grant Road intersection, and the speed limit in the construction zone has been reduced to 25 mph.
The City of Tucson is seeking groundskeepers to work in its Parks and Recreation department to help maintain and repair park amenities and grounds.
Duties include using hand tools and power equipment, washing and disinfecting ramadas and restrooms, removing litter and graffiti from parks and lakes, and helping with special events, rentals, and volunteer organizations. The work schedule varies and requires weekend and holiday work.
On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, beginning at 5 a.m., the northbound and southbound median island travel lanes on Stone Avenue from Sahuaro Street to Alturas Street will be closed to traffic. The travel lane closures will be in place until about 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018. The closure will allow work crews to safely conduct median island work at the Stone Avenue and Grant Road intersection.
Due to the excessive workload on our field staff, same day inspections are now limited to emergencies until further notice.
We are developing a policy to provide same day inspections for non-emergency situations and will update you once that is in place.

Starting Sunday, Aug. 12, new service changes will begin for multiple Sun Tran, Sun Express, and Sun Shuttle routes. Passengers can find updated schedule and route information online or with Sun Tran’s new Route Schedule booklets, available on vehicles and at approximately 300 locations throughout Tucson.
The Tucson Audubon Society is hosting the Southeast Arizona Birding Festival this Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 8-12. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel-Reid Park, 445 S. Alvernon Way, is the headquarters for the event.
The schedule includes free talks and workshops, as well as half-day, full-day, and overnight field trips to southeast Arizona’s best birding sites. Workshops and trips are led by local and international experts.
