Downtown Tucson Partnership Offers Another Bonus Gift Card Round Later Today

Rio Nuevo is responding to public demand by sponsoring another round of the Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) Gift Card Incentive Program. Round 6 goes live this afternoon, May 8, at 5 p.m. Previous rounds began at 6 a.m. and sold out in a matter of minutes, and this will be the first time for an afternoon launch.

TUCSON DELIVERS BETTER STREETS PROP 101 CRACK SEAL/FOG SEAL PROGRAM HOUGHTON ROAD FOG SEAL TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS

Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), continue to crack seal/fog seal various roadways throughout the City. Early Friday and Saturday mornings, between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., the Houghton Road intersections at 22nd Street, Broadway, Valencia Road and Irvington Road will be closed to through travel so crews can complete fog sealing work in the middle of the intersections. Right turns at each leg of the intersections will be permitted.

Another Webinar Scheduled for ‘Navigating the Impacts of COVID-19 for Small Businesses’

The City of Tucson's Office of Economic Initiatives is inviting local businesses to join a free webinar Monday, May 11, from 3-4 p.m., on the latest help for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Next week's webinar will feature public health expert Dr. Omar A. Contreras, who will help guide us through the reopening of our economy.

Tucson City Council Approves Million for Small Business and Community Assistance

The Mayor and Tucson City Council yesterday, May 5, approved $5.5 million in funding for Tucson Mayor Regina Romero’s We Are One/Somos Uno Resiliency Fund. The money will be distributed as grants, with $3 million earmarked to assist individuals and families, $2 million for small business assistance, and $500,000 for nonprofits. Decisions regarding the administration and qualifications of the program will be decided at a future Mayor and Council meeting.

Sun Link Changes Some Service Hours for Route Maintenance

Sun Link will end service hours at 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 7; Monday, May 11; and Wednesday, May 13; so that maintenance can be performed along parts of the streetcar route. On these days, streetcar service will run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and complete their trip prior to 8 p.m. on these dates. The maintenance includes crack sealing, fog sealing, and new striping on both Fourth Avenue and University Boulevard.
