Cyclovia Tucson takes place on Sunday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event returns to South 12th Avenue for “Cyclovia en la Doce” and provides nearly four miles of car-free city streets for Tucsonans of all ages to enjoy. The route extends from the Julian Wash Archeological Park at The Loop (West 39th Street and South 12th Avenue) to Mission Manor Park, just south of Drexel Road.

The City of Tucson's Environmental and General Services and Tucson Water departments, along with Ward 3 Council Member Paul Durham, invite the public to a ribbon-cutting for the new Silverbell Pump & Treat Facility, 3600 N. Silverbell Road (by Silverbell Golf Course), on Monday, Oct. 28, at 8:30 a.m.

Sentinel Peak Park, known as "A" Mountain, will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Sunday, Oct. 27, for the TMC Get Moving Tucson Half-Marathon, 5K and FitKidz Mile. The closure will also allow the University of Arizona to light the "A" to kick off homecoming week.
The park will reopen on Monday, Oct. 28, at 8 a.m. with no restrictions.

The Tucson Fire Department (TFD) recently was awarded a $20,000 Car Seat Safety Grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for the Safe Riders Program. TFD will use the grant money to purchase all-in-one car seats that will grow with the child from birth until they reach a height of 4 feet 9 inches.

The City of Tucson is recruiting for several positions in the Parks and Recreation department. Vacancies include project manager and trade specialist-irrigator (both permanent), general maintenance workers, kitchen manager, and recreation workers (all non-permanent). If you didn't receive your early ballot and/or need a replacement to vote in the Nov. 5 general election, you have until this Friday, Oct. 25, to request one from the City Clerk's Office. The deadline for voters to return their voted ballots by mail is Oct. 30, to allow enough time for them to arrive by Election Day.

In an effort to better protect privacy and provide exceptional service, Tucson City Court will be transitioning to an Arizona Court Automation Project (ACAP) court of the Arizona Supreme Court during the weekend of Nov. 1-3. To accommodate the change, the Court will be closed on Friday, Nov. 1. Online services will not be available Nov. 1-3, as computer systems will be down during the transition, and there is potential for limited service on Nov. 4.

The festival brings thousands of people from all walks of life together to celebrate the spirit of the winter season and the unique culture of the Tucson community. Multiple City departments will be joining the parade.

The Perimeter Bicycling Association of America is looking for volunteers for its annual El Tour de Tucson bicycling event. The race and fun rides will be on Saturday, Nov. 23. Several volunteer opportunities are available on ride day such as merchandise assistants, bike valets, and working along the route.
