Public Comment Sought for Proposed F-35A Mission

The U.S. Air Force has made available for public review and comment a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) F-35A Mission. The Draft EIS identifies Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base as the Preferred Alternative, with Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (AFB) in Tucson, Homestead Air Reserve Base in Florida, and Whiteman AFB in Missouri as Reasonable Alternatives.

Asian Lanterns Light Up Zoo

Reid Park Zoo is partnering with Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc., UA Global, and the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center to bring more than 400 colorful, interactive, and customized lantern displays to Southern Arizona. The Asian Lantern Festival runs 6-9 p.m. nightly, through March 29.

The family-friendly event features Asian-inspired entertainment, cuisine, and activities, and 80% of the lanterns are new to the Zoo. Animals have access to heated habitats behind the scenes and will likely choose to be off habitat. 

Electronic Submittal of Development Packages, Building Plans Required for Review & Electronic Submittals Encouraged for All Planning & Development Services Application Types

The City of Tucson Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) will no longer accept paper building plan documents submitted for review. Walkthrough service will be available, but the application and documents must be submitted in advance.

All other PDSD applications will also be accepted electronically. Please include the application type or permit number when uploading via the PDSD Filedrop.

Tucson City Court Domestic Violence Mentor Court to Give Presentation in Scottsdale

The Tucson City Court Domestic Violence Mentor Court team will appear in Scottsdale on March 11 to present an afternoon of information and education, hosted by Scottsdale City Court. The Domestic Violence Court is one of 12 United States Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) Domestic Violence Mentor Courts nationwide.
