Friends of Fort Lowell Park is embarking on fund raising for beautifying and securing the Wildlife Oasis at the pond in the park. The goal is to overlay the existing chain link fence with ocotillo fencing which is beautifully natural, adding to the nice scenery and the security of the wildlife refuge created along the pond's edge.

Mary Fimbres from my staff snapped some pictures of the snow we had in Tucson this week. I don't think any of us expected it to be so heavy here in the valley, but it's always a treat here in the Lower Sonoran Desert. We are all just thankful that it doesn't stick around long enough for us to shovel it.

The El Paso and Southwestern Greenway will be a 6-mile long multi-use path for bicyclists and pedestrians. The pathway will extend along a corridor that was once used by the railroad, from north of downtown Tucson, through the City of South Tucson to the Kino Sports Complex. The new path will be car-free and will connect to other regional bikeways and to many of the neighborhoods that the path travels through.
