The 98th annual Tucson Veterans Day Parade begins Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. in Downtown Tucson.
This year’s theme is For the Hearts of Veterans, and the Grand Marshal is Adolfo Harpo Celaya, one of the survivors of the USS Indianapolis. Parade entrants will be judged and awarded trophies in a variety of categories.
The parade begins downtown at West Alameda Street and Granada Avenue, heads east on Alameda Street, north on Stone Avenue, west on Franklin Street, north on Church Avenue, west on 6th Street, then south on Granada Avenue, returning to the staging point on Alameda Street. There will be street closures and detours as needed.
Businesses, parking garages, and parking lots will be open and accessible. Parking in the City/State Garage, 498 W. Congress St., will be free. Local resident, pedestrian, and bicycle access will be maintained in and around street closures.
