Monday is the last day for candidates to apply for the position of Tucson Police Chief. The City is seeking a proven leader who can inspire the confidence of the community and police officers. The successful candidate will be committed to using current data-driven policing strategies and applying the principles of community policing to reduce crime and deliver a high level of police services.
Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, résumé, and a list of five references to TucsonPC@policeforum.org.
The Mayor and Tucson City Council created a 15-member advisory committee to help in the selection process to replace Tucson Police Chief Roberto Villaseñor, who plans to retire in December. A final selection by the City Manager and approval by the City Council is expected to be made in November.
