'Back to School Bash' Approaching

Tucson City Council Member Shirley Scott's Ward 4 office will hold its 15th annual "Back to School Bash and Pancake Breakfast" a week from this Saturday. There will be free school supplies for all children, including backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, etc. There also will be vendors and raffle prizes, such as tablets and bikes.

Volunteers with the Tucson Fire Department will prepare free pancakes and eggs for those in attendance. Tucson Police Department (TPD) Special Operations is bringing the TPD Helicopter, Bomb Squad, SWAT tank, and K-9 Unit. Sports Clips will provide free haircuts.

There also will be a jumping castle, free eegee’s, animals from the Reid Park Zoo’s Outreach Program, child fingerprinting, along with various other exhibits and activities. The event is Aug. 1, 8 a.m.–noon, at the Clements Recreation Center, 8155 East Poinciana Drive. Read the news release.
