The City of Tucson Transportation Department is planning four neighborhood traffic safety and bicycle boulevard projects. The Michigan/Fair, Cherry, Greenway, and Bantam Bicycle Boulevard projects expand low-stress biking and walking networks citywide by creating calmer residential streets.
Community input events have been taking place to present information and receive input. The final session will be Saturday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m.-noon, at the Cherry Avenue Recreation Center, 5085 S. Cherry Ave. The session also includes mobile bike repair and free coffee and pastries.
These projects are part of the voter-approved Proposition 407 Tucson Delivers Parks and Connections program to fund improvements to parks and construction of new bicycle and pedestrian routes. For more information, contact Ryan Fagan at Ryan.Fagan@tucsonaz.gov or (520) 837-6699.
