Brown Bag Series Presentation on Stormwater Harvesting in Pima County

The Pima County Regional Flood Control District will host a presentation on “Estimating the Volume of Stormwater Available for Harvesting in Urban Pima County.” Guests are invited to bring their lunch to the talk tomorrow, Jan. 10, noon-1 p.m., at the Public Works Building, 201 N. Stone Ave., 9th floor.

Pima County Civil Engineering Manager Evan Canfield will talk about the use of rainfall and stormwater to supplement water supplies and how studies suggest that about 30,000 to 40,000 acre-feet of water could be harvested from impervious surfaces in Tucson in an average year. Discussions also will touch on the Stormwater Harvesting and Management as a Supplemental Resource manual written by staff from the City of Tucson and Pima County.
