Cell Phone Recycling to Benefit Domestic Violence Victims

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Tucson Clean & Beautiful, the City of Tucson's Environmental & General Services Department, the Tucson Police Department, and Pima Community College are bringing awareness to the issue through a cell phone recycling event this weekend.

By recycling your old cell phones, you can help victims of abuse and be environmentally conscious at the same time. The recycling process cleans your phone of all information.

Donated phones will be given to Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse to distribute to clients who can use the phones (even without data plans or phone service) to call 911. The donation event will be held this Saturday, 8-11 a.m., at Pima Community College Desert Vista Campus, 5901 S. Calle Santa Cruz.
