City Approves Entering into Development Agreement for Primary Jobs Incentive for World View

The Mayor and Tucson City Council this week voted to advance the process for World View Enterprises to receive the City's Primary Jobs Incentive that provides 100 percent credit of construction taxes to be used for job training.

In order to qualify for the $150,000 incentive package, the high-altitude balloon/near-space tourism company must invest at least $5 million in its new facility, create 25 new jobs that pay 25 percent more than the average local salary, and cover 75 percent of employee health premiums. World View says its average wage will be $56,500 for the 448 jobs it plans to create over five years at a 28-acre parcel to be built south of Tucson International Airport.

City staff will bring a development agreement to the Mayor and Council sometime this summer.
