City Council Approves Pilot Program for Public Scooters

The Mayor and Tucson City Council yesterday, March 5, gave preliminary approval to launch a six-month pilot program to bring electronic scooters to Tucson starting in July.

The council is trying to resolve some safety issues and other concerns before giving final approval to the program, which would put rental scooters around downtown and 4th Avenue. Council Members Shirley Scott and Steve Kozachik were the dissenters on the 5-2 vote.
