City Council Approves Pilot Program for Public Scooters

The Mayor and Tucson City Council yesterday, March 19, gave final approval to launch a six-month pilot program to bring electronic scooters to Tucson starting July 1.

The council two weeks ago gave preliminary approval to the program, but wanted to resolve some safety issues and other concerns before taking a final vote. The scooter program most likely would put dockless rental scooters around downtown and 4th Avenue, but it would be up to the operators where to place them.
