The City of Tucson is seeking an assistant public defender to perform professional legal work defending indigent clients charged with misdemeanor offenses in City Court. This position works under the supervision of more senior and experienced attorneys.
Duties include defending clients in City Court, performing pretrial functions, and assisting with administrative duties. A Juris Doctor and experience in criminal litigation are required for the position. Applicants who have sat for the bar exam, but have not yet received their Arizona State Bar License, are eligible to be considered.
The deadline to apply is Feb. 24. Oral board interviews will be held the week of March 4.
