City Hiring Heavy Equipment Operators

The City of Tucson is seeking heavy equipment operators to work in its Transportation department. Duties include maintaining streets, roadways, drainage ways, and other City property.

Operators also grade terrain, lay asphalt and chip seal, hoist large heavy objects, dig trenches, excavate tree stumps, and sweep and vacuum streets. Work requires climbing in and out of equipment and exposure to extremes in weather and temperatures.

Candidates should have six months of post-high school education and at least two years of heavy equipment operation. Applications must be received by Nov. 5. A practical skills test and oral board interviews will be held later in November.
