The City of Tucson is seeking a senior heavy equipment mechanic to work in its Environmental & General Services Department (EGSD). Duties include performing preventive maintenance and repairs of heavy vehicles and equipment, and rebuilding and installing engines.
A senior mechanic also makes service calls and helps maintain a safe work area. The position is for second shift and includes shift differential pay for hours worked after 6 p.m.
Minimum qualifications include at least four years of maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding trucks, construction, and street maintenance equipment. Six months post-high school education also is required. Applications must be received by March 3. A practical skills test will be held on March 12.
