City Sees Significant Growth in pCard Program

The City of Tucson yesterday received a rebate of more than $1,160,000 for its participation in the Bank of America purchasing card (pCard) program. The program allows the City to purchase items through a credit card instead of the traditional purchasing and payment process. The City receives a percentage of total spending as a rebate at the end of the year. The rebate contributes to the City’s General Fund, which is used for public safety, parks, and other services.

The 2018 pCard rebate represents the first time in 13 years that the rebate has exceeded $1 million. “I’m very proud of our staff who continue to make this program successful and effective,” said Vice Mayor Richard Fimbres. “The program represents smart spending and continued innovation by the City, and we will continue to grow the program further by encouraging expanded utilization."
