City of Tucson Offering Lower Water Rate for Community Gardens

The City of Tucson Water department is offering a pilot program that provides assistance for qualifying community gardens within city limits. Customers can receive a more affordable water rate that helps support local, community agriculture if they have a designated irrigation meter providing water to the garden only.

The program also provides financing assistance to install a dedicated irrigation meter and backflow device for gardens that do not currently have a separate meter. Staff from Tucson Water will work with applicants to help them make the best decision. Call the Public Information and Conservation Office at (520) 791-4331 or email pico@tucsonaz.gov.
