The City of Tucson is offering a deferral on utility services statement charges (water, sewer and wastewater, trash and recycling) and a waiver of late fees to federal employees and contractors affected by the partial federal government shutdown.
A program through Tucson Water offers an automatic 21-day extension on payment through its Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system at (520) 791-3242. When calling, the customer should have his or her account number available and follow the prompts. The extension is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Customers can also email their request to TW_Web1@tucsonaz.gov. They may include federal government correspondence that asks for leniency or flexibility in meeting payment obligations, though this is not mandatory to receive the extension.
If additional time is needed for any reason, a customer must contact Customer Service directly.
