Cyclovia Tucson takes place on Sunday, April 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Start the day at the new Banner—University Medicine hospital tower with a tour of the new lobby, a ballet folklórico performance, mariachis, the Tucson Roadrunners hockey team, a zip line, food trucks, and more. Parking is available at the Diamond Children’s garage, 1625 N. Campbell Ave.
The route along 3 miles of car-free streets will be from Banner to the Warehouse Arts District (near 6th Avenue and 6th Street). Cyclovia Tucson now has an app available for smartphones. With the app, you can save favorite events, access the route map, find food trucks, restrooms, and activities, and listen to a specially curated playlist for the day.
The Tucson event, which began in 2010, is hosted by Living Streets Alliance. During the event, streets along the route are blocked and traffic is redirected. Cyclovia gives people from the greater Tucson region the chance to enjoy great weather, see neighbors, friends, and people from throughout the area, all while getting a little exercise on city streets that are open only to walkers, joggers, cyclists, skaters, and all other forms of people-powered movement.
