Downtown Park Dedication Set for Friday

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation, Parks and Recreation, El Presidio Neighborhood Association, and Centennial Park Committee will join Mayor Jonathan Rothschild, Ward 1 Council Member Regina Romero, Tucson Water, and community members Friday at 3:30 p.m. to dedicate Centennial Park in honor of Christopher Franklin Carroll. The downtown preservationist, developer, and fourth-generation resident of El Presidio died in 2013.

Located at 1 W. Paseo Redondo (northwest corner of North Main and Paseo Redondo), the pocket park will create a pedestrian oasis for citizens and visitors. It features a curved walkway, landscaping, panels to interpret Tucson’s rich history, and is a rainwater harvesting demonstration site.
