Tucson Water and Environmental Services (ES) customers are invited to attend town hall meetings to learn about and discuss proposed rate increases for the next two fiscal years. Any increases would need to be approved by the Mayor and Tucson City Council.
Tucson Water is proposing rate changes for FY2017 and FY2018. Two proposed water rate options will be presented, as will Tucson Water’s cost-of-service analysis and five-year financial plan.
The Environmental Services department is proposing a surcharge for residential and commercial recycling and an increase to the commercial waste collection rates, which would take effect in July 2016.
The last two town hall meetings are tonight at the Quincie Douglas Public Library, 1585 E. 36th St. and Thursday at the Tucson Water Eastside Service Center, 10445 E. Golf Links Road. Both meetings are scheduled from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
