Work began this week on the Five Points Art Enhancement Project at the intersection of Sixth Avenue, 18th Street, and Stone Avenue. The work is scheduled to take place Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with occasional night and weekend work, until approximately the end of May.
The new art will consist of five overhead steel arches with electrified signs spanning each roadway segment of the intersection. A 6-foot-tall statue of Cesar Chavez will be placed on the point of the intersection, between Stone Avenue and Sixth Avenue.
Bike lane closures and parking restrictions will be in effect. Business access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Travelers in the area may experience delays.
