Free Dental Care This Weekend for Kids Without Insurance

There's still time for parents of uninsured children to register for free dental care. Give Kids a Smile Day Tucson will be held this Saturday, Feb. 16, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at Pima Community College West Campus, 2202 S. Anklam Road.

Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. A parent or legal guardian must be present on the day of the event and all paperwork must be completed. Completing the paperwork online may reduce your wait time on the day of the event. The children served are from families who do not qualify for AHCCCS/Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program and cannot afford dental care.

The event is made possible by community sponsors and volunteers who donate their time, resources, and skills to provide this free day of care. Give Kids A Smile Day is an annual event held nationally at a variety of clinical sites across the country and organized in part with the American Dental Association Foundation.

This day of free dental care not only acts to provide at-risk children with needed oral health services, but it also raises awareness that dental health coverage for children is inadequate to meet the level of need that exists. Please note that space for treatment is limited and not everyone will be able to be seen.
