The Freecycle Network and Tucson's Ward 3 City Council Office are hosting the eighth annual Freecycle Post-Holiday Swap this Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Woods Memorial Library, 3455 N. 1st Ave.
The 2-4 p.m. event offers community members a chance to get rid of unused items at home by exchanging and trading with neighbors. It also includes a free shredding service (limit two boxes per customer). At last year’s event, approximately 3,000 pounds of paper was shredded.
Ward 3 Council Member Paul Durham and Ward 3 Council Aide and Pima County Constable Bennett Bernal will be on-site to meet and greet constituents and to encourage recycling and community building. All leftover items are donated to a local nonprofit organization at the end of the swap.
