Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild, Ward 6 Council Member Steve Kozachik, and Tucson Parks and Recreation are celebrating the addition of two new ADA-accessible playgrounds with shade at Reid Park, 920 S. Concert Place, this Friday, Sept. 13, at 5:30 p.m.
Some playground components include a rope climber, motion cruiser, musical instruments, and swings. The project also includes a new concrete path between the ramadas, a combined drinking fountain and pet fountain, new benches, and grills.
The area also received a new irrigation system, new turf areas with trees and shrubs, and perimeter fencing along part of the small playground. Funding for the project came from City of Tucson impact fees.
