The Environmental and General Services Department (EGSD) is reopening the City of Tucson's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program with new hours until it is safe to reopen at full capacity. The program has been paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting next Tuesday, July 14, city residents can drop off HHW for free at the Los Reales Landfill, 5300 E. Los Reales Road, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Residents must show proof of residency (utility bill or Arizona Driver License with up-to-date address). Anyone outside city limits can drop off items for $10.
Starting Wednesday, July 15, commercial businesses within city limits can drop off HHW at Los Reales on Wednesdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. You must make an appointment in advance.
Anyone dropping off materials must wear a mask or face covering and follow 6-feet social distancing guidelines. Commercial customers and non-city residents dropping items off must pay with debit or credit cards. Cash is not being accepted at this time. EGSD is not doing home collections or monthly outreach events until further notice.
