Now that the weather is warming up and plants are beginning to bloom, the Tucson Fire Department is seeing an increase in calls about bees. Since late last month, TFD says it has received about 40 bee calls, but most are transient bees that will move on their own in about a day or two.
Normally, the removal of bees is the responsibility of homeowners at their own expense, but TFD will respond if the bees are aggressive and in the act of attacking.
If you see a swarm of bees, cover your face, don't antagonize them, and go indoors. If you have dogs, bring them inside with you.
