The City of Tucson is hiring water system operators to join the Tucson Water department. The positions are responsible for operating, monitoring, and controlling water treatment facilities and distribution systems to ensure appropriate water supply, quality, and pressure.
Operators use SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) to help oversee the potable and reclaimed water systems. They also respond to inquiries regarding water system problems and water quality concerns.
Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade 2 certifications in water treatment and water distribution or equivalent are required at time of application. Rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays are mandatory. The positions are open until March 31. Oral board interviews are scheduled for April 17.
