Beginning at 6 o'clock tonight, through 6 a.m. Monday, the intersection of 22nd Street and Alvernon Way will be partially closed for water infrastructure improvements. Tucson Water will be replacing a 36-inch, 63-year-old concrete cylinder pipe in conjunction with the sewer line improvements being made in the area by Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department. The partial intersection closure will follow completion of repairs to a 30-inch water main pipe that ruptured this past Monday. During the closure, police officers will help direct motorists and pedestrians through the area. All motorists are asked to exercise additional caution and be prepared for traffic delays.
