The 13th annual National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) walk in Tucson is Saturday, April 6, at the Kennedy Park fiesta area, 3359 S. La Cholla Blvd. This free, family-friendly event features 5K, 3K, and 1K walks. Check-in time is 7:30 a.m. and walks begin at 9 a.m. Registration is required, but there is no fee.
Participants are encouraged to build teams and fundraise to support the work of their local, regional, and or/state NAMI organization. Tucson Water's Pete the Beak will be one of the local mascots joining the walk. Last year, NAMI walks across the country collectively raised more than $11.9 million.
