The Tucson Pima Arts Council (TPAC) and Mayor Jonathan Rothschild's office present the sixth exhibit co-produced for the Mayor’s Gallery. This year’s collection celebrates the Sonoran outdoors with a collection of plein air paintings by four local artists. Plein air refers to the act of painting in outdoor daylight, a type of painting most notably used by French Impressionists and seen in works like Monet’s Water Lilies.
The featured artists include Eric Jabloner, Janice MacKenzie, Jean Beck, and Lowell Richardson. The public opening is tomorrow, 4:30-6 p.m. at 255 W. Alameda St., 10th Floor. The artwork will hang in the Mayor’s Gallery until March 2016.
