CITY WINS NATIONAL AWARD FOR FINANCIAL REPORTING - The City of Tucson recently was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel that declared it meets high standards, demonstrates a constructive spirit of full disclosure to communicate the City's financial story, and motivates people to read the report. INTERACTIVE MAPS PROVIDE VALUABLE INFORMATION ABOUT TUCSON - ZoomTucson is an interactive mapping site that allows citizens to find government information and services, such as political representatives, trash and recycling collection schedules, zoning, and school boundaries. ZoomTucson's clean and simple map interface allows users to search by an address or click on a location to display a wealth of information. It's also good for people interested in moving to Tucson. Meanwhile, ZoomBiz is an easy-to-use, map-based website providing developers and property owners with location-specific information on incentive programs for which they may be eligible.
ENJOY DISCOUNTS ALONG THE STREETCAR ROUTE AND 'SUNSHINE MILE' - The Summer in the City discount card is now available online and from select merchants. The $5 card entitles the holder to discounts at many food, lifestyle, and entertainment establishments in Tucson from June-August. The card is geared toward keeping residents inspired to get out and enjoy six of Tucson’s districts along the streetcar route and surrounding areas. Added this year is the "Sunshine Mile," the corridor along Broadway Boulevard between Country Club and Euclid. The two-mile strip is lined with award-winning boutiques and restaurants.
