TODAY IS LAST DAY TO COMPLETE SURVEY ABOUT PROPOSED POSTAL CHANGES - The consolidation of the Tucson Cherrybell postal processing center to Phoenix is scheduled for next year, extended from the previous date of July 11. If the consolidation goes through as planned, the only postal functions left at the Tucson facility would be P.O. boxes and retail services. Meanwhile, two surveys - one for businesses and one for the community - are online to gauge reaction to consolidation. The findings will be passed on to congressional representatives and presented to U.S. Postmaster General Megan Brennan, said Tucson Vice Mayor Richard Fimbres. The ultimate goal is to stop the consolidation, he said. The online surveys, which began in May, will be available through the end of today.
