Tucson Water is part of the City of Tucson's municipal government and serves more than 717,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Silverbell Road Segment Gets Final Paving Starting This Week

Crews are beginning final paving work this week on Silverbell Road from Goret Road to Grant Road. The installation of the final layer of asphalt on Silverbell Road began this morning and is scheduled to be finished by Nov. 2. Crews from Hunter Contracting, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will work 6 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. During the curb lane paving work, side street access will be closed for short periods of time.

Speed Limit Drops on Bicycle Boulevards

In an effort to make it safer for bicyclists, the Mayor and Tucson City Council last week approved a one-year pilot plan to drop the speed limit on bike boulevards to 20 mph, down from 25 mph. There currently are two established bike boulevards in Tucson that will have the new speed limit. Those routes are the Third Street/University Boulevard and Fourth Avenue/Fontana Avenue bike boulevards.
