Bond Oversight Commission Annual Report
TONIGHT IS THE LAST NIGHT FOR ZOO LIGHTS BEFORE CHRISTMAS - Reid Park Zoo hosts its final pre-Christmas Zoo Lights celebration tonight. If you can't make it tonight, there will be three encore nights (no Santa), Dec. 26-28. The annual holiday event features jingle bells, twinkling lights, animal-themed light sculptures, and thousands of sparkling bulbs. Free cookies are provided each night, and hot cocoa is available for $1. Zoo Lights runs from 6-8 p.m. each night.
TRANSIT SCHEDULE FOR CHRISTMAS - Sun Tran, Sun Van, and the Sun Link Tucson Streetcar will run on a Sunday schedule for Christmas Day this Thursday. Sun Express and Sun Shuttle will not be in service. Sun Tran will provide free shuttle service to Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church for the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas meal on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The buses will shuttle between St. Demetrios and the Ronstadt Center. Regular service resumes Friday on all systems.
'TIS THE SEASON TO TREECYCLE - Christmas is just a couple of days from now, so it's time to start thinking about what to do with your real tree. Remember your Christmas tree is a renewable resource. Bring your cut tree (minus the decorations) to one of nine sites throughout the community. The annual TreeCycle begins this Friday and runs through Jan. 11 at sites in Tucson and Oro Valley. Additionally, from Jan. 2-11, the City of Tucson will have Merry Mulch (wood chips) from shredded Christmas trees available for pick-up at Udall Park, Randolph Golf Course, and the Los Reales Landfill. Bring your own container and take home some free wood chips for your garden. Please note that the City of Tucson will not collect Christmas trees from curbs and alleys, and other green waste cannot be accepted at TreeCycle.
